These outstanding and community-driven innovation projects exemplify a shared commitment to supporting Ho Chi Minh City in its battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.
On September 17, 2021, the expert panel of the "HCMC Innovative Solution – COVID 2021" (HIS-COVID 2021) program reviewed and evaluated submitted projects to select the Top 10 most innovative and impactful technological solutions.

Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Science and Technology will support these Top 10 HIS-COVID 2021 projects through deep integration with relevant departments and agencies, ensuring rapid deployment of these solutions in the city’s public health efforts. Aligned with the strategy of treating "technology as a fortress" and alongside two strategic pillars—citywide vaccination and strict implementation of the 5K prevention protocol—Ho Chi Minh City aims to swiftly overcome the pandemic.
All startups participating in the final round will be eligible to apply for the SpeedUp Program by the Department of Science and Technology of HCMC, which offers financial support of up to VND 2 billion. Particularly outstanding solutions will be given priority for recognition as science and technology enterprises.
The HIS-COVID 2021 program—HCMC Innovative Solution – COVID 2021—was initiated and organized by the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City, and implemented by the Business Startup Support Center (BSSC), one of the country’s leading organizations in startup support. BSSC aims to be a hub for the exchange and transfer of valuable experiences, knowledge, and resources from both domestic and international partners, forming a sustainable foundation for Vietnamese startups.
The program attracted 99 submissions, all demonstrating community spirit and a readiness to support the city's COVID-19 response.
HIS-COVID 2021 sought innovative solutions to assist the business community in coping with the pandemic, and aimed to promote and introduce fully developed, ready-to-transfer solutions to city departments, agencies, and business associations. Additionally, the program helps build a database of technologies and innovations that contribute to Ho Chi Minh City’s COVID-19 response.
