A new technology solution called StayHome14 has been introduced to enhance the management and monitoring of individuals under centralized or home quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Quang Trung Software City (QTSC) in Ho Chi Minh City, the COVID-19 outbreak remains highly complex, with a growing number of suspected cases required to self-isolate at home. This situation has placed significant strain on authorities, particularly health departments and frontline units. In response, QTSC has partnered with TMA Innovation to launch a digital solution that facilitates home quarantine management.

The StayHome14 system integrates with wearable smart devices to assist authorities in monitoring the behavior and health status of individuals under home isolation due to potential COVID-19 infection.

Leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), the system tracks users’ health conditions and locations through smartphones and smartwatches. It automatically alerts relevant authorities when irregularities are detected, such as abnormal body temperature or movement outside of the designated quarantine zone.

QTSC emphasized that the solution is compatible with a wide range of Bluetooth-enabled devices and allows for secure data control and management. Data collected from the devices is encrypted and can only be accessed by authorized parties.

Key features of the application include:

  • Location Monitoring: Tracks the quarantined individual’s location via connected smartphones and logs any violations of the isolation zone.

  • Body Temperature Monitoring: Automatically records and reports body temperature through integrated sensors, replacing the need for healthcare staff to perform daily manual checks.

  • Real-Time Alerts: Sends instant notifications to authorities if the user exits the quarantine area or shows signs of fever.

  • Secure Government Data Management: All transmitted data is secured and only accessible by authorized government bodies.

  • Health Metrics Tracking: Wearables can also monitor other vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and calorie consumption.

The StayHome14 solution represents a practical step toward digitalizing epidemic response and improving public health management during critical times.
